POLICY:

It is the Policy of this Board to support continuous improvement of schools and students by ensuring that the District Growth Plan/Accountability Contract provides clear goals and strategies that will lead to improved student achievement.

REGULATIONS

1. The Board shall develop an annual Growth Plan/Accountability Contract which shall both reflect and guide the school growth plans submitted by the School Planning Councils.

2. The District Growth Plan will be developed in a process that involves the Board of School Trustees, District staff, and representatives from the Kootenay Lake Teachers’ Federation, CUPE, school administrators, students, DPAC and parents.

3. The primary focus of the District Growth Plan will be the improvement of student achievement.

4. The completed District Growth Plan will become the District Accountability Contract which will comply with Ministry of Education directives and expectations.

5. The District Growth Plan/Accountability Contract will be developed in September and October for final approval by October 31^st.

6. The Superintendent will monitor the District Growth Plan and report to the Board on a regular basis on progress toward attaining the Growth Plan Goals.
