As COVID-19 continues to circulate in our communities, we encourage everyone to follow public health guidance to help reduce the risk of COVID-19 in our schools and our communities.
The Board of Education is committed to modeling the behaviour recommended by public health officials. We want you to know that all nine of your trustees are vaccinated, and we fully support public health guidance which includes:
- Complete a daily health check before you come to school. You can use the BC COVID-19 Self-Assessment Tool.
- Monitor yourself regularly for symptoms of illness. If you are sick, stay home. Seek testing when recommended.
- Follow provincial restrictions in place.
- Get vaccinated when you are eligible to do so.
The BCCDC continues to provide trusted information about COVID-19, including how to protect yourself, your family and your community and what to do if you suspect you have the virus.
While we all navigate disrupted routines and other changes as the pandemic continues, it’s important we look after our mental health and well-being. Please, don’t wait to reach out. School-specific resources are available from erase. Information for individuals is also available from the BCCDC.
Sincerely,
Lenora Trenaman
Chair, Board of Education
