CELEBRATION: Soccer Nets Donated by Malberry Holdings and Nelson Legion - Local Branch 51
The Hume Elementary School staff, students and parents would like to thank the Royal Canadian Legion (Local Branch 51) in Nelson and Malberry Holdings for their generous donation of $5700.00. The money is going toward the purchase of new youth soccer nets for the school. The Nelson Legion were stewards for funds donated by Greg and Michelle Malpass who own Malberry Holdings, which owns the Legion building. Malberry Holdings are new corporate citizens we have joining us in the Nelson community.
Principal of Hume Elementary School, Sacha Kalabis, along with some of the senior Hume students accepted the funds from the Legion president, Bill Andreaschuk, and vice president, Bill Haire.
The funds donated were set aside specifically to go toward projects that assist the youth of Nelson. The new soccer nets at Hume Elementary School will support years of student use through extra-curricular and curricular soccer. The nets will be set up year round and be accessible to the surrounding community. The Hume School community is extremely excited by this addition. The donation of the soccer nets frees up funds within the Parent Advisory Committee and school to direct toward other outdoor enhancement initiatives, such as the building of an outdoor classroom, greening of the property, and addition of a natural play area.
Thank you!
