Hume Students Win Cursive Writing Contest

In June of 1924, the Hume Elementary grade 6 class was acknowledged for their cursive writing by the inventor of the MacLean method of handwriting. 1923-24 was the first year the big brick school was in operation. Current day Hume Elementary Principal Janene Stein found the certificate in the back room and asked Gr. 1/2 teacher Teresa Keenan to put it up in her classroom. Teresa Keenan entered her class in a national contest this year and two of her students each won second place! The Grade 1 and 2 students are also super proud of their classmates Andi and Kiko and also to be able to create cursive letters!
