Seamless Day Initiative Moves Forward in Winlaw

On January 28th, 2020 the Board of Education approved a modular to be co-located on the Winlaw Elementary School property. The modular will provide an expansion of services at Winlaw Elementary School to more effectively meet the community’s needs and address future capacity concerns, as follows:

  • A new Kindergarten classroom
  • Space to provide a combination of learning support services, including Speech-language and Occupational Therapy
  • Before and after school care for school-aged children

This “Seamless Day” initiative will help to provide coherence for our Kindergarten learners by reducing the number of transitions they experience during the day.

The Winlaw Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is working with School District 8 on this exciting initiative.  District Operations staff have begun the planning process for site preparation and orientation of the modular and anticipate that the new facility will be fully operational in September for the start of the 2020-21 school year.

The Winlaw PAC has created a survey to help inform the proposal and is asking parents and caregivers of both currently enrolled and future Winlaw Elementary School children to share their input and experiences related to before and after school services in the Winlaw community.  The survey closes February 26th.
