Child Care Month is an opportunity to recognize the essential role that child care providers and early childhood educators play in supporting children, families and communities across British Columbia. 

Their work creates safe, nurturing and culturally responsive environments where young children can learn and grow. SD8 extends its appreciation to the child care professionals across the district whose daily efforts help set a strong foundation for lifelong learning and well-being.

Child Care Provider Appreciation Day happens on May 8, 2026, or the last Friday before Mother's Day. SD8 invites you to thank a child care provider or early childhood educator on this special day!
