National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

Dec
6

The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women marks the day (December 6, 1989) that 14 young women at Polytechnique Montréal were murdered. It is about remembering those who have experienced gender-based violence and those who we have lost to it. It is also a time to take action.

SD8 joins all school districts across B.C. in lowering our flags to half mast to mark this day and our commitment to acting to prevent gender-based violence in schools, workplaces and communities.
