Mount Sentinel Graduate Named 2025 Schulich Leader
Mount Sentinel Secondary School (MSS) graduate Phoenix Allen has been named a 2025 Schulich Leader and awarded a $100,000 scholarship to study Mathematics at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.

SD8 Board of Education Passes Balanced Budget
The School District No. 8 (Kootenay Lake) Board of Education unanimously approved its budget for the 2025-2026 school year at the May 13 board meeting.
New Principal at L.V. Rogers Secondary for 2025-2026
School District No. 8 (Kootenay Lake) announced today that Mr. Ian Cooper will serve as the new principal of L.V. Rogers Secondary School in Nelson and the REACH program, effective August 1, 2025.
