Public Notice is hereby given to the electors of School District No. 8 (Kootenay Lake) (SD8) that nominations for the following offices of school trustee will be received by the chief election officer or designate.

SD8 is pleased to welcome Jason Tichauer as the new assistant superintendent, effective September 1, 2026.

School District 8 has partnered with Berry Patch Daycare to provide child care services at Winlaw Elementary School starting September 8, 2026.
Assistant Superintendent Deanna Holitzki Retiring
School District No. 8 (Kootenay Lake) has announced the retirement of Deanna Holtizki, Assistant Superintendent, effective November 2026. Deanna’s retirement concludes a distinguished career in public education spanning 36 years, 28 of those in SD8.
