International Holocaust Remembrance Day pays tribute to the memory of the more than six million Jewish people and other victims who died in the Holocaust and "reaffirms a commitment to counter antisemitism, racism, and other forms of intolerance that may lead to group-targeted violence"(Unesco).

"Martin Luther King Jr Day is honoured each year on the third Monday in January. The day honors the American clergyman, activist, Civil Rights Movement leader. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (January 15, 1929 – April 4, 1968) best known for his role in the advancement of civil rights using nonviolent civil disobedience."




November 8th is a day marked to honour the contributions of Indigenous Peoples to the Canadian Military. "Did you know that First Nations served in the Canadian Military at a higher rate than any other group in this great nation? More than 4,000 Indigenous people served Canada in the First World War.
