SD8 schools and workplaces are diverse, inclusive environments where staff and students can expect and have a right to safety, dignity, kindness and a caring and supportive learning and working environment. 

Every person in Canada has inherent human rights protected by federal, provincial, and territorial laws.

SD8 invites students, staff, families, and education partners as well as anyone from the broader community to provide input to our 2025-2026 budget. You can do so by completing a survey that asks you about your education priorities for the coming school year. The survey takes about 5 minutes to complete.

School is not in session from Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27 while students and families enjoy spring break. School is back in session on Monday, March 30.

The SD8 school district office at 811 Stanley Street in Nelson remains open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays except statutory holidays.
