Today is the day to recognize your school bus drivers’ tremendous commitment to safely transporting students daily to and from school and to and from a variety of school-related activities and trips throughout the school year.
Driving students where they need to go is not the only thing bus drivers do; they form supportive connections with their passengers and create a positive space on their buses, often becoming role models for students and a voice of welcome to families in the community.
Thank you to SD8 bus drivers for all that you do!

Happy Canada Day!
This is a statutory holiday when all SD8 facilities and offices will be closed.

August 1 marks the actual day in 1834 that the Slavery Abolition Act of 1833 came into effect across what was then the British Empire.

"Since 1967, International Literacy Day (ILD) celebrations have taken place annually around the world to remind the public of the importance of literacy as a matter of dignity and human rights, and to advance the literacy agenda towards a more literate and sustainable society."
SD8 joins the rest of Canada to mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day. September 30 honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.
