Patton Gatto-Beebe is a first-year Student Trustee, and currently in the twelfth grade at Kootenay River Secondary School. Patton has achieved honor roll even grades, and participates in the community outside of school. He became a Student Trustee because has been a strong leader for quite some time. He considers his new role a gift, as he now is in the position to invoke change. Patton is a good listener, and has never been one to quit. Personally, he likes a good challenge, and when there's an issue that troubles the students of SD8, he won't rest until it is resolved in a way that most everyone is happy with. He is convinced that if I want something done right, you have do it yourself. Patton is aiming to help others across the district. He is excited to learn about the behind the scenes work of the board, and to play a part in making long lasting changes that improve the quality of learning for all in schools. Patton brings in a calm manner while being passionate about people and their problems. He aims to put students, and their values, first. Patton wants to create an equitable learning environment, that's open to all learners. He has ties different groups within his own school, including student council, and looks forward to working with all of them in order to bring the above ideals into the reality of all schools across SD8. Patton looks forward to serving his District for the next year, and looks forward to the changes yet to come.
