StrongStart is a free early learning program for pre-school children 0 – 5 years old and their parents, grandparents or caregivers. Come to enjoy play time, free play, circle time with songs, stories and crafts provided during each session.
StrongStart is a program that offers today’s families an opportunity to provide their young children with problem-solving skills and the social skills that will help them successfully manage in school or within the community. The time participating in a StrongStart program is a wonderful way to begin introducing your child to your neighborhood school community.
Be sure to check in with the facilitator or office staff as soon as you arrive at the StrongStart program for the first time – they can assist with the registration process and answer any questions you might have.
In order to attend StrongStart, families must complete the StrongStart registration on or before their first day of StrongStart. Children who are NOT registered may NOT attend until a registration form and the required documentation is provided. Registration for StrongStart begins your child's enrollment into our district, and will streamline the registration process once your child is ready for kindergarten.
Please be prepared to provide legal proof of identification for your child. This includes:
- Birth certificate (required)
- BC Services Card (required)
- Identification issued by Immigration Canada (e.g. passport, visa, permanent resident card)
- An Aboriginal Status card if applicable
Click the button below to complete a registration form to begin enrolling your child in StrongStart. Once the form is completed you can:
- Print it off and and drop it at any of our StrongStart locations, or
- Save and email it directly to clerical.inc@sd8.bc.ca.
To complete your registration, we must also receive the above identification documents. Any clerical at our StrongStart locations can make copies of these for you (preferred), or if need be, you can include a scanned copy of these documents (no photos if possible, please, PDF's preferred) with your electronic submission.
