Facilities Planning

Long-Range Facilities Plan

The Board's long-range plans are updated annually.  The Board receives updated enrolment projections by the end of each calendar year, conducts ongoing condition assessments of each facility, and holds consultation meetings each spring in all six families of schools.

The current Long-Range Facilities Plan was adopted by the Board of Education on December 10, 2019.  The adoption followed an in-depth study of enrolment projections and existing facilities, and a transparent consultative process with stakeholders in all the District's six Families of Schools.  This new plan replaced the previous 2016-2024 plan.

2020-2025 Capital Operations Plan

Under the Long-Range Facilities Plan, the Board updates its plans for capital spending on District facilities each year. On June 23, 2020, the Board of Education adopted the current 5-year Capital Operations Plan, which was a commitment by the Board to a major sustained increase in annual funding to upgrade facilities, drawing on all District capital resources.  District Staff update the Board at each Operations & Finance Meeting and Board meeting as to the progress made under this plan.
